Welcome to the Corner Farm!
The Altgeld Sawyer Corner Farm is a collaborative urban-growing partnership and community garden located in Chicago’s Logan Square at the corner of W Altgeld and N Sawyer (map).
We’re a community farm open to all, and we encourage you to get involved: join us on garden days, help us meet our needs, or just be a friendly neighbor and stop by!
This week’s events:
- Wednesday (6p-8p) – Community night. Tend with your neighbors and drop off your greens and browns for our compost from 6:30p to 7:30p
- Saturday 5/19 (10a-1p) – Workday. The farm is up and running, now it’s time to get it cleaned up, put a couple some final seedlings in the ground, and get everything growing!
Regular events throughout the season:
- Mondays (3p-6p) to harvest for the Christopher House food pantry,
- Wednesdays (6p-8p) for compost and community night, and
- Saturday workdays for bigger projects about once a month.

Unique among community gardens in Chicago, Corner Farm Logan Square is a completely collaborative venture, with everyone helping to grow everything, and sharing the harvest. We grow plants for food, as well as fiber- and dye-making, but we don’t designate plots for individuals or families. Instead we work together to cultivate not just a garden, but also a community.
Through our projects, events and close relationship with Christopher House, the Corner Farm serves as a meeting place, classroom and outdoor laboratory. This experimental approach allows us to learn by doing, and build on our successes. Our garden grows with the inspiration and ideas of everyone involved.

Hi guys!
I was walking past the garden and noticed one of the chive plants is gone. I hope one of you took it to transplant it into a bigger planter but if not then it might be gone forever… i’ll stop by later and check the entire garden.
I just found you all on a link list on the AUAChicago blog.
Keep up the good work.
